welcome back!!!
....as you all have noticed we disappeared for a little while from our own blog....our deep silence ment only two reasons: there were one big changes and there were no changes at all about us!
How it possible? Here comes the explanation...
Since April 2011 our businesse has changed hands (well guessing...this is the one big change)....please give a warm welcome to Lucas and Susan Morrison, parents of three, lovely people full with great ideas and hardworking attitude for improving and keeping Cafe-Deli-Buchery on the top.
And what does not change around us at all are: we kept our lovely staff, homemade great scones and cakes, amazing coffees, nice selection of teas and taesty savories (our own handmade quiches, pizzolas, pies, sausage rolls, bruchettas are more than worthy to try...yumm!!!). We still provide our customers with an opportunity to have a lovely browsing around our shelfes packed with handmade chutnies and jams, tasty crisps, quality olive olis and balsamic vinegars, salad dressings, biscuits and crackers, box od coffees and teas, soft drinks, fresh vegetables and fruit, locally sourced milk...etc....cannot write everything down, please better come, visit and check out it by yourselfes!!!
And most importantly: we would like to welcome all of your ideas, please visit us, spend as mutch time as possible with us and share all of your experiences and impressions.
What we can promise from now on....try to update this bolg as often as possible, beause we would love to let you know about any changes, promotions, offers and Stewart and Co news.
Whohooooo, and before we forget: there are other big changes on the way towards to Stewart and Co...we have applied and succeded to get an alcochol license lately.....super taesty alcoholic (4%) ginger beers are already on the drinks menu....and the rest (wine, beer) will happen very very soon.
We will keep you updated, have a very nice time until x x x

Stewart & Co. At The City Library: Food Done Good
Big pat on the back to everyone at Stewart & Co. At The City Library who have won Best Outreach in Olive Magazine's Alternative Restaurant Awards...
Celebrating the food industry's hidden gems, Olive were on the look out for those unsung food heroes worth shouting about. Their Best Outreach award commends people trying to increase standards outside of the usual foodie environment and take fantastic grub to a new audience. Enter Stewart & Co. At The City Library!
Instead of the usual contract catering companies we were given the opportunity to bring the Stewart & Co. ethos of proper, homemade food to the brand new City Library which according to Olive we've 'cleverly balanced' with a great menu at reasonable prices..thank you! Check out page 85 of the October issue of Olive magazine for our sparkly accolade...

STEWART & CO. JESMOND IS HAVING A MAKEOVER...
After first opening our doors (to a shop half the size) over 4 years ago and presenting our 'real, proper food' message - it's been a journey and a half adding this, that and the other - so we thought it was about time Stewart & Co. Jesmond gave itself a brush down & a bit of a polish.
Fear not, all the bits you tell us you love are here to stay - like our handmade cakes and proper sarnies - but we'll be adding some yummy additions to our menu as we'll come to you instead with our new table service in the cafe (= more cake eating time for you)...
So on the 13th September we'll be closing our doors for a few days with our shiny new shop and cafe being re-opened on Friday 17th September. Please come & visit us to sample some delicious tasters from our new menu as well as to have a good old fashioned nosy...

STEWART & CO. AT THE CITY LIBRARY IN MOURNING..
This week at the City Library cafe we have some very sad news to report... Our illustrious leader Tracey is leaving us. She will be sorely missed. But fear not, the rest of your lovely library staff are all still present and correct and will be keeping the place ticking over in her absence. Steve has been hard at work in the kitchens preparing delicious treats for your taste buds and the girls on the counter are serving our customers with their usual smiles.
So, with a beautiful weekend forecast, what better time to come down and give us a visit? If it’s busy inside then the seating area outside is a peaceful oasis where you can catch the rays. Come and enjoy the food and the sunshine, and pay your respects to our lovely manager Tracey before she leaves! P.S. If you’ve been stranded in Newcastle by Iceland’s most infamous volcano then come and visit us. It’s not quite the Costa del Sol but we do a far better cup of tea than you’d get on any Mediterranean beach!
